A Short History

St. Joseph Catholic Church was established in 1939, and was a viable parish church before Hurricane Katrina hit Pearlington, MS in 2005. The church was completely wiped out. Due to the relocation of many Pearlington residents following the storm, the Diocese of Biloxi merged St. Joseph Parish with St. Ann Parish in  Clermont Harbor. Since then the Church Hall was converted into a chapel with the appropriate ornamentation to hold Catholic Liturgy. The Chapel continues to serve the residents of Pearlington, as well as many residents of Louisiana who have weekend homes along the Pearl River and surrounding bayou country.
